Not confident at all—I've never really thought about the selection process. Somewhat confident, but I'm often surprised by what gets coverage. Pretty confident—I can usually predict which stories will get attention based on Canadian interests. Very confident—I understand the economic, cultural, and geopolitical factors that drive editorial decisions.

I mostly scroll social media and whatever appears in my feed—no real strategy. I check one or two Canadian news outlets occasionally for international stories. I regularly check multiple Canadian news sources and try to compare perspectives. I hadn't really considered that they're connected. I've noticed some connection but I'm not sure exactly how it works. I understand that Canada's responses to global events get covered, but I'm still learning the patterns. I clearly see how Canada's geopolitical alignment, trade relationships, and foreign policy shape which international stories receive media attention.
